Word: Ubuntu Pronunciation: /uːˈbuːntuː/ (oo-BOON-too) Part of Speech: Noun Origin: A Nguni Bantu term originating from the rich linguistic traditions of Southern Africa, including Zulu and Xhosa. Definition: A profound philosophy meaning "humanity to others," most famously translated as "I am because we are."
