At The Competitive Readers Coalition (CRC), we believe that literacy is the lens through which our young men view their potential. To transform a community, we must first help our youth see a version of themselves that doesn't yet exist in their daily environment. Whether they are sitting in a barber’s chair in Pinellas or studying at home, having the "Vision" to see a path from the shop to the boardroom is where true leadership begins.
1. Word: Vision
2. Definition: According to Merriam-Webster, the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom.
3. Origin/Etymology: From Latin visio ("a seeing, sight"), from videre ("to see").
4. How Vision Builds Success: Vision pushes young men to see beyond their current circumstances : it's the blueprint that turns a barbershop dream into a boardroom reality. When our boys can visualize their success, they are no longer just reading words on a page; they are mapping out their destiny.
